The Arising of The Intermediate With The Descent of The Organic

"Consistency is contrary to nature, contrary to life." (Aldous Huxley)

"The planet is some kind of organized intelligence. It's very different from us. It's had 5- or 6-billion years to create a slow moving mind that is made of oceans, and rivers, and rainforests, and glaciers. It's becoming aware of us, as we are becoming aware of it, strangely enough. Two less likely members of a relationship can hardly be imagined-the technological apes and the dreaming planet. And yet, because the life of each depends on the other, [we have] a feeling towards this immense, strange, wise, old, neutral, weird thing, and it is trying to figure out why its dreams are so tormented and why everything is out of balance."
(Terence McKenna)

Whether the words, paranormal, fringe or Fortean are applied onto the exceptional as opposed to the conventional, these generic terms fail to capture the psychology of dilettantes like you and I, who are drawn into wandering the hinterlands and outposts of popular culture. We would be as existentially isolated as Alexander The Great who found himself atop some long forgotten promontory despairing that each in our own manner if we had mapped the unknown world, and that all of what we have cataloged is all there is, without any exception, we would ironically enough, be irretrievably lost. The strange organic rain of proverbial corpuscles as though it were blood were falling from the passing clouds, as well as the increasing velocity in the collapse of natural systems surrounds the Fortean on a winding mill of events traced by ill used or overgrown pathways to speculate upon. In these strange times, there is no time itself to pause when it is counted, as if to survey unknown lands within the psyche fomented in his visions, he has not enough momentum to surmount the isthmus between chaos and structure. The early and equally controversial reports of the the precipitous descent of the natural world were matched by an expanding catalog of intermediate creatures whose pages have substantially expanded with the passage of time, has authored abundant variations. Going back only a few decades one saw the arrival of so called flying saucers with the arrival of the synthesis and transmutation of natural occurring materials into synthetic agents from aluminum to atomic weaponry. Perhaps we are about to experience an extraordinary evolutionary leap, albeit it being a reactionary phenomenon. Despite our own self assurances that we fully comprehend that this process of evolution appears to be in decline as the amount of variation required to produce extraordinary mutational adaptations wanes, something strange has come this way something that is not classifiable in terms of indexing it to an organic equivalent except as a metaphor.
For the majority of the human species, this quest for a false sense of omniscience regarding the larger creature of Nature that we are embedded within is invariably based upon creating a anthropomorphic, self referential moat of utility, which also serves as a comforting cartography of boundaries, edicts, postulates and above all a homogeneous consensus that the King is on his throne and that God is in His Heaven just as we were told that these buffers of uncertainty were meant as assuring bedtime stories, which lulled us into our dream of sleep. It was also Aldous Huxley who said "All gods are homemade, and it is we who pull their strings, and so, give them the power to pull ours."
As children, at minimum, we were suspicious and suspected that this consistent narrative was a transparent ruse, utilized as an operating rationale, as a proverbial gate keeper for all the darkness of the world, which we rightfully imagined was awaiting us behind the closet door or beneath our beds, which would find us defenseless at some future date, as the chaotic, the deconstructive and the temporal nature of our lives inevitably awaited us in a rite of initiation we could not avoid. As regular readers of this blog realize that I have been heavily influenced by the theories of G.I Gurdjieff, and their relationship to understanding some of the processes not yet recognized by traditional science.

In 1912, when Gurdjieff appeared again in Moscow and St. Petersburg after long journeys in Central Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, his teaching was already fully formed. Modern science had just"been "born. In 1900, Max Planck introduced the theory of "the fundamental quantum of 'energy," which was to revolutionize the concept of physics, up till then "based on the idea of continuity; according to this new theory, energy had a discrete, discontinuous structure. In 1905, Einstein formulated his Special Theory of Relativity, which revealed a new relation "between space and time which was to contribute to a radical reversal in the hierarchical relation of entity andenergy. Gradually, the idea of particle was to "be replaced "by that of "event," of "relation," and of "interconnection," the real movement "being-that of energy. Quantum mechanics was established as a theory only much later, around 1930, upsetting the concept of the identity of the classic particle a discrete identity as a part separate from the whole. For the first time, the possibility of a discontinuous space-time was recognized as logically valid. At last, the new theory of elementary particles was in the process of formation in our epoch, carrying quantum mechanics and the theory of relativity further, and at the same time trying to go beyond them.
As astonishing as it might seem, Gurdjieff's thought anticipated the evolution of contemporary scientific ideas, not in a vague and poetic manner but by a precise and rigorous method. Gurdjieff had a great respect for "corporeality" for the "signs" which are found in Nature. "Everything in the Universe is material," said Gurdjieff, "therefore the Great Knowledge is more materialistic than materialism."'' Certainly, he made a distinction between "matter" and "materiality," and he introduced the idea of "degrees of materiality": "Matter is the same, but materiality is different. And different degrees of materiality depend directly upon the qualities and properties of the energy manifested at a given point." "Particles" will then be the local configurations of energy. Gurdjieff conceived of the universe as a great whole, a vast cosmic matrix where everything is in perpetual dynamic movement and structuring: "Everything issuing from Everything and again entering into Everything." This unity is not static; it implies differentiation and diversity: "One of the most central ideas of objective knowledge ... is the idea of the unity of everything, of unity in diversity. ... But for subjective consciousness, the world is split up into millions of separate and unconnected phenomena. Attempts to connect these phenomena into some sort of system in a scientific or a philosophical way lead to nothing "because men cannot reconstruct the Idea of the whole starting from separate facts and they cannot divine the principles of the division of the whole without knowing the laws upon which this division is based." Thus Gurdjieff (when one looks at paranormal events) implies an underlying unity to divergent methodologies of categorization. This matrix of processes, if it exists should demonstrate that strange manifestations are not exceptions to this rule. Again , though the uncertainty in this is applied to one architectural systematization versus another. One wonders if the many manifestations of intermediate creatures from flying globes to carnivorous predators are a form of identity bonding wherein one phenomenon is entangled in the identity of the his observer's categorization, wherein we are observing a parallel hybridization of these manifestations of phenomenon are in reality, unknown processes of this reorientation of exchanges we externalize into semiotic representations, due to the fact we are to an extent, we are embedded within them.

We see the tidal confluence of these intangible forces of both apparent chaos and order in both the human and the non human intertwined fates laid upon a soil that may be shifting the course of a river of life descending as light itself in the form of photons to create new dry river beds as well as new realms of habitation. There is no slowing or damming this oceanic stream of energy. We have largely stripped this realm of its capability to channel and reinvest these energies toward it's own sustenance as well as our own so is it really so surprising that in place of what once received and transmuted these extraterrestrial solar and interplanetary influences in a organic system now is being reformulated as an intermediary realm of proverbial phantoms? In other words if evolution in terms of adaptive behavior toward the larger organism has largely failed to reconcile with the needs of its host organisms systems, perhaps biological systems are being supplanted by forms of which we are entirely unfamiliar as a matter of reorientation. One is reminded of the extraordinary amount of time required for evolutionary processes, however we do have an exception to this theoretical postulate in out own history, wherein we seemingly appeared over night in geological terms. Material or cellular lifeforms as a matter of energy as information being encoded into self sustaining organic equivalents of perpetual motion that process solar energy may be seeking an intermediary channel that may discount or counter oppose a subsystem that is not only viral but a manifestation of a toxin in relation to the larger whole, and a parallel path of energy transformation on the upper most rung of ascent on Jacobs Ladder of exchanges may be one does not require a cellular or biological basis for this process as it is adapting to the diminished capability of this realm to exchange and thus cuts a new channel..
As adults, the human world we inhabit has an assuring inference provided by the corporate media that the center will hold despite all of the centripetal forces whirring away behind the clockwork, fragmenting and rearranging reality, which despite an effort of distraction by escapism, through creating an architecture of structure by repetition scheduled in blocks, our world view is managed, edited and presented as a scrim of tidy geometric cubes.
We, on the other hand know fully that the inorganic script of writ will never contain the organic nature of energy as information as though it were a device, or gimmick. Just as water seeks it’s own level and effectively locates the weakest foundational crack in a structure, the organic being we inhabit and term Earth is reinventing itself beneath our feet, while we construct the thirteen hundred variations of legislative, reorganization in order to manage ourselves through the abstractions of yet more architectural conceits. The signs are all around us.
Not surprisingly, the world, this tiny organic globe suspended in the void is effectively running an end pass around our managerial capabilities as the value of money as a currency of behavior is losing it’s value

The invasive rebellion of the forces seen and unseen upon the surface of our terrestrial dominion is softening the ground in a preemptive manner. New predatory creatures dart and dash in the intermediate world, the resurrection of ghosts made flesh or the patrols of lights upon the sky in the depth of night, the cryptic messages in the fields, the reintroduction of human precursors, or the accompanying collapse of existing, interdependent and living systems all indicate that the energetic spirit of organic life, the constituent lifeblood we have squeezed out of the soil, paved over with concrete and asphalt, dear reader, did not simply "go away" as that a veil has been drawn over our waking reality as the planet reinvents itself within the realm of it's atmospheric arrangement in a reoriented taxonomy we have inadvertently created. What arrives as a stream of photons must be processed, must be stored, must be transformed, and when that capability is wrested from the body of this proverbial station of it's transmission, stranger things, and events are continuing to transpire from a peripheral background process to one taking center stage. The re-composition of organic life is afoot, and as a consequence what defines organic life will no doubt be transformed. The sociology of this is a fascinating sub context of denial, re-categorization,and general befuddlement as well as increasingly comic explanations for what will become increasingly apparent, that the constitution of our planets hierarchies of process are being reformulated as we bicker and plan our myopic and largely self referential strategic retreats long after the battle has been decided in our favor and as a consequence, we have lost the war we have waged against our host. In the posts to follow we will explore how these forces may be arranged and then reordered.

I think it's going to be OK Bruce.

It looks as if most of the life on this planet is under ground and not above it.

If it works anything like a cell the surface will have receptors that trigger a response from within.

I was thinking of microbial life as well as the leaching processes from the varying geologic compositions of subsurface material that serve as food in both an upward and downward movement in this reciprocal feeding process beneath our feet in relation to the synthetic materials that we "feed" into this system. What mutational reorientation that life will provide is a fascinating and dreadful topic in of itself. Life will persist but in what form?

Yes - It's interesting that the remnants of previous forms of life oil, coal, natural gas etc. are being brought to the surface of the planet to seemingly fuel some event of significance.

Bruce:
So many times I read and re-read your wonder-full, mind-expanding prose, yet have some difficulty tracking your thoughts. Tonight, I was finishing my second nice shot of Bailey's Irish Cream as I began reading this piece, and suddenly it struck me. You are a poet. Your thoughts are to be read, at least by me, in terms of flowing, colorful poetry, not linear, left-brained prose.

Beautiful, musical your thoughts are. And, I am far from drunk, my friend; just slightly set loose from the tyrant in the left side of my skull.
