Three Phenomenon For The Price of One
While the first post examined a potential thread in the technical exploitation of plasma weapons, this post concerns exotic technologies that existed, or were under development at the onset of the modern UFO Era which provocatively coincided with the last years of World War Two. The purpose of this series is not to suggest an answer to the UFO enigma, but rather to suggest, as I had in the first post, we are dealing with and are lodged between two phenomenon, not one. One is toxic... the other illusive. One has death, madness and strange disappearances in it's column and the other is simply a bad nightmare, a visionary and ephemeral initiation. Competing realities, which will be the subject of the next post, among other facets that seemingly become entangled in our minds.
This serves as an theoretical explanation for the patina of secrecy,outrageously off the wall MIB activity,as well as the persistent disinformation and manipulation of private and contracted researchers. My own suspicion is that in regard to prosaic but exotic unknown X Craft, our government knows a great deal but, however, in regard to the enigma of a non human, organic source for the parallel activities of unidentified aerial phenomenon, the government knows as much as we do, which is comparatively very little and is essentially clueless. However, at the same time we also have any number of witnesses as enthusiasts who have a self destructive proclivity for hanging out at the outskirts of military bases in the hope of gaining evidence that they have seen a "flying saucer" in the strange lights flitting in the night sky, secured behind barbed concertina wire.
What they have witnessed may be something altogether different but just as exotic.There are two possible engineering approaches in the military use of plasma technology as a ground based, directed weapon One is to divert the plasma into a chamber, excite it, introduce a laser-critical gas such as argon and direct the resultant energy through high-power optics as a laser beam. The other is to wrap small compact rings or 'toroids' of plasma energy in intense magnetic fields and fire them from a weapon as 'bullets' at air or ground targets.
In the early 1990s, the US Air Force was preparing tests at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico, designed to lead to a ground-based plasma-weapon in the late 1990s capable of firing plasma bullets at incoming ballistic missile warheads. The enabling technology was a 'fast capacitor bank' called Shiva Star (Death Star) that could store 10 million joules of energy and release it instantaneously. I am not making this up. Officials anticipated firing bullets at 3,000km/sec in 1995 and 10,000km/sec - 3% of the speed of light - by the turn of the century. The tests absorbed little more than a few million dollars of annual funding (Jane's Defence Weekly 29 July 1998).
Another fact for your consideration. CNN recently reported that in the United States, black budget projects are being funded at a level of more than 20 billion dollars per year. What Paul Bennewitz photographed at Dulce Air Force base is perhaps overdue for reinterpretation as well as other phenomenon in this shell game.
Truth is stranger than fiction. What lies below the public record? None the less, the monitoring of sightings continues unabated and this series of posts examines what may be the hidden, parallel history of the UFO. One that cannot be determined by reports alone, nor photographs but perhaps in probabilities rather than our unfounded fears versus ones we have yet to encounter, ones that we should have, but lack the wherewithal to be cognitive and wary of. Imagined threats versus ones that can make the next war, a casebook example of the old Shakespearean axiom that the best laid plans of both mice and men oft times go astray. The "dangerous knowledge" of Godel comes to mind. However there is a more tangible form of dangerous certainty that has haunted me. Joesph Capp's compelling account of the death of a military officer as well as a body found on a coal pile in England after a police officer's close encounter. Metaphysics have never been known to leave a trail in the form of a body count, unless you include the NSDP.

If this is so, the activities of testing experimental weapons platforms as well as organic unknown phenomenon then feeds what I call a Rashomon Effect, not only in civilian activities but in the intelligence activities of government where the U.S monitors reports of their own stealth activities by foreign entities that are reported as UFOs, as well as those that are uncorrelated.
The third phenomenon is a growing undercurrent of faulty logic due to the lack of definitive answers to either synthetic or organic phenomenon in terms of any coherent explanations. This is the disclosure movement. While well intentioned,this doomed political movement fails to take into account that if the U.S is conducting stealth testing of exotic technologies, why in heavens name do we expect disclosure, because any disclosure would also have to disclose and make absolutely vulnerable, national security by revealing their role in the phenomenon that the public views as a singularity rather than two sides of a coin. A petition to disarm the world is a well intentioned but sincerely naive "wil o the wisp"..In this, I have often considered that one famous case that has been beaten to death, may be based on the sworn patriotic duty of some to lie with a straight face in their oath to defend our national security, as perverse as that seems. Would you lie for your country?

The history of this phenomenon has a history of repeating itself, which has more to do with more authoritarian visitations of the terrestrial kind than the more nebulous ghost phenomenon of the mind. Again, the toxic versus the illusive in the light of statistical probabilities..parallel phenomenon versus a singularity. Not all phenomenon were created alike. Many Ufologists seem to mix their metaphors as casually as the certainty that accompanies religion, among other things. The Eternal Return In The Cycle of History
Real UFOs exhibiting inexplicable maneuvering capabilities at incredible speeds that contemporary aircraft are incapable of, are nothing new. Consider when allied bomber pilots in their lumbering B-17's encountered a astonishing creature in an era of prop driven air warfare, one can only imagine their dissociative state of mind when encountering the Reich's ME-262, whose advanced design was not placed to any practical use by others until the Korean war. General Omar Bradley observed that "We did not win World War Two, the German's lost it" Hitler's refusal to accept the ME-262 as a tactical fighter until it was too little too late, was duly noted. The triangular X craft of our own generation has a similar effect.

Indeed what the hell is it? In more ways than one the silence is deafening.I have noted that history that on one level is a story that has essentially never varied in it's course, on another, the faces, technologies, the players change while all assume the roles of their predecessors. Are we on the cusp of a similar surprise that was encountered by the bomber crews of one era and the hapless pilots of our own time? Which is the more probable, a proverbial Venusian or an X craft?
When A Straight Line Is A Spiral
One of the two critical assumptions in the last post was the long time required to bring experimental results of new technologies to a practical fruition, as well as the fact that the Third Reich possessed extraordinary scientific advances in the technology of warfare, some of which, we are only now discovering, incredibly, nearly seven decades later. Take one example out of several, that of stealth technology, which is the capability of aircraft to elude radar detection. The 1988 F-117 Nighthawk is touted to be the first aircraft to deploy this capability. Wrong. The first stealth aircraft was the 1944 Horten HO-229 Flying Wing. There was a wonderful and fascinating program on the National Geographic Channel wherein this possibility was tested using a full scale model based on the prototype which is still held at a secured location, under lock and key. Note the required four decades between the HO-229 and the F-117.
Does this craft look familiar? Could the mind of Kenneth Arnold be prone as it is with nearly all eye witnesses to inadvertently and incorrectly embellish his memory of a HO-229? Yes, this extraordinary aircraft still exits although understandably it is now in pretty rough shape due to the passage of time.. Could it have been flown in a test flight in 1947? Yes. The photograph below documents the arrival of this craft at a military base in Seymour, Indiana in 1946, one of the spoils of war. Did or could Arnold have perceived what he saw as a matter of reasonable doubt? Of course.
Is the first unidentified aircraft of the postwar era, a UFO, or a HO-229? Which is more probable, an HO-229 or an encounter with Venusians? Would the U.S tip it's hand to the Soviets that such a craft potentially capable of accomplishing an end run around their radar defense be acknowledged and publicized in conjunction with Arnold's sighting of it at the height of the Cold War? The answer is perhaps the hidden history of contemporary stealth aircraft.
The B-2 bomber has a linage traceable to the Third Reich. And so in the forty years it took to exploit what the Reich had discovered are there yet other projects that are still being perfected? if it took until 1988 to perfect the contemporary offspring of the HO-229, whose postwar test flight Kenneth Arnold may have witnessed what other other advances owing their heritage to German Scientists exist? Nick Cook of Jane's Defense Weekly, the proverbial blue chip standard of aviation journalism makes some pithy points in the following video.
I have noted in a previous piece on Project Paperclip that it is strange indeed that some of the leading edge experts and specialists in the world were German scientists who publicly worked in postwar positions at NASA, that had no direct correlation whatsoever to their area of expertise. Beyond The Third Reich

Then again, we kill two birds with one stone as evidenced in "Horizontal Plasma Antenna using Plasma Drift Currents" This short excerpt from a Navy patent notes "A horizontal plasma antenna is provided. An ionizer generates an ionizing am through a horizontal tube to form a bounded plasma column extending along a horizontal axis in a gravity field. An amplitude or frequency modulating signal is applied to Helmholtz coils to control a horizontal magnetic field that is perpendicular to the horizontal axis. The resulting changes in the magnetic field produce a drift current in the plasma that, in turn, radiates an amplitude or phase modulated electromagnetic field from the plasma column." Ouch.
Nimrod's Progeny
With the assistance of a $2.7 Million U.S. contract, Stellar Photonics is developing a Plasma Acoustic Shield System, or PASS. The PASS uses a high-energy laser to create an airborne ball of plasma, then uses another laser to create a shockwave inside the plasma ball, creating a flash of light and explosion. Gosh,what does EMP stand for? In 1988.Mr.Gaffney also acted as the Assistant Secretary of Defense for international security policy under President Reagan, who I noted in a previous post opined on a alien threat from another world at the U.N , while very effectively economically strangling Gorbachev's Soviet Union with the threat of the ever present vague shadow of "Star Wars" In that capacity, Mr Gaffney also served as chairman of the High Level Group of NATO. A busy guy. A connected guy. He also served as a professional staff member of the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee under its then-chairman, John Tower, and as an aide to Senator Henry "Scoop" Jackson. In this game of smoke where there is fire, there is undoubtedly a secret history ongoing in our time as it has demonstratively in others, all under the cover of stealth, fueled not be deterrence, but perhaps by a preemptive fear or the capability to wield one as a threat. An ace up the sleeve. Buried beneath the public face of national defense, there are many variations of a secret history that are more due to our own ignorance than intelligence operatives.
The Ultimate Wonder Weapon of The Universe
Consider this a prediction I would prefer not to make but then again unfortunately I have history at my side to vouchsafe my own gnawing stomach ache, when it comes to the strangers bearing these gifts which we are in no position to receive. The ghosts of Einstein,Hiroshima, and in particular, that of J. Robert Oppenheimer are my witnesses. Consider this an epitaph for our priorities in regard to a hierarchy when it comes to scary monsters, the ones we discover in ourselves when all of our altruistic and visionary rationals as to our spirit of exploration meet the tribal rubber on the highway.
An interesting article even suggests darker possibilities regarding, not suprisingly, what is known as dark matter.

Those strange theories by some physicists that the HADRON Collider might be in a continual failure mode due to something in the future tampering with it to prevent it's being used might not be so casually dismissed as we consider that nearly every technological advance has been harnessed by the military.
But then consider the state of Ufology these days covered in the mire of soothsayers and juvenile aspirations. The evil spirits we fear may be terrestrial in nature. In the beginning of this series, I noted the Reich's access to Tesla's notes and so this post returns to the beginning as it ends. Remember, kids, truth is stranger than fiction and irony has it's place at the table.
Perhaps G.I Gurdjieff summed our situation very neatly. "Where there is much good, there is much bad." Next..the search for zero point energy...UFO effects and the potential ones arising from plasma propulsion systems. In this also is a different take on the old warning of "Watch The Skies.." We can only hope that Prometheus shrugs.
