"What we have had in the last twenty-five years or so is a large propaganda movement designed to create a whole frame of reference for these manifestations. A frame of reference that could be used to conceal and to cover up what is really going on. If it hadn't been for a relatively small handful of extraterrestrial enthusiasts, the concept of UFOs from outer space wouldn't have caught on; and the UFO intelligences would have had to find something else. But the outer space propaganda did catch on, and we have millions of people who accept extraterrestrial visitors as the explanation for the lights they are seeing in the sky." - John Keel
A apt example is the Big Bang theory as an inadvertent propaganda piece that mimics certainty while the centerpiece of this theory is rapidly collapsing.
Guido Tonelli, from one of the two LHC detectors chasing the Higgs, said: "Whatever the final verdict on Higgs, we are now living in very exciting times for all involved in the quest for new physics." Between the lines, this optimistic tone, CERN said new results, which updated findings that caused excitement at another scientific gathering in Grenoble last month, "show that the elusive Higgs particle, if it exists, is running out of places to hide". The Big Bang theory is running out of steam.
The center's research director Sergio Bertolucci told the conference at Mumbai's Tata Institute of Fundamental Research that if the Higgs did not exist "its absence will point the way to new physics". Under what is known as the Standard Model of physics, the boson - named after British physicist Peter Higgs - is posited as having been the agent that gave mass and energy to matter just after the Big Bang 13.7 billion years ago. As a result, flying debris from that primeval explosion could come together as stars, planets and galaxies. Wrong.
I have been focusing on Innovative theories based on hard research as of late, rather than the whirlpools and eddies of recycled opinion in the backwaters of popular culture, especially in the emerging field of quantum biology. The vast majority of those I consider my peers seem to be receding into the past in terms of the analysis of an enigma, from contactees to Project Blue Book, which on the surface appears to be a case of the snake eating it's tail.
What lies beyond this has remained enigmatic, provocative and deconstructive to the point of creating, in effect, a parallelism of reactionary, faux certainties that serve as a handy defense mechanism, embedded within a equally faux rebellious stance against science as an straw dog adversary, rather than developing cogent, and mature propositions beyond the lunacies of free floating anxieties dressed as a wish list, such as free energy, disclosure and conspiracy. Since they are straw dogs that take the tension away from the lack of internal progress, acting like heat sinks, there will never be a coherent resolution to this sort of self inflicted dualism. A perverse entertainment and a profitable one that reminds this author as akin to the traveling medicine shows of over a century ago.
The passing of Mac Tonnies as a active participant has taken on the proverbial image of this dialog as a once centripetal diffusion stirred by new ideas, now, it seems to have settled to the bottom as a sort of muck. When poking this congealed muck with any sort of common stick, this does not change the intrinsic nature of muck.
I suppose the engagement of the mind to nature and the environment is in it's essence ( in relation to conceptual thought) a matter of pattern recognition and if we take from Chaos Theory, the fact that everything from sensory simulations to mentation is the transference of energy either stored transmitted or mutated through various medias, we have a very finite capacity to detect patterns, and the patterns that we acknowledge as stereotypes, or markers for our orientation while they may have coherence in our own context, they may have none in what actually constitutes reality, inasmuch as the uncertainty principle appears to affirm this fatal fallibility in that despite our best efforts the predictable is an illusion, ie: How long will you exist?
Of course our subliminal aim and perhaps psychological weakness is we instinctively seek predictability, and in this quest we literally, due to our orientation, believe in what Einstein termed "persistent illusions" of solid objects as well as time itself as divorced from the geometry of space. We are given either what one could consider either a helping hand or a sleight of hand by nature as everything we experience is a simulation of our biology. Even something as prosaic as sight ( which is a discontinuous sampling) appears seamless but as they say there are cracks in this arrangement, as they say, "you could drive a truck through". These cracks are what comprises the flaws in conceptual thought where our language superimposes even images rather than the other way round internally. This is an issue most of those who research unknown aerial phenomenon like to sweep under the rug although without an observer and taking into account his or her fallibility on many fronts, nothing in terms of this phenomenon is "gospel" although some prefer predictability, which again when solving a puzzle in the nature of an absolute enigma, terms like "UFO" and others are viral parasites to the empirically minded, who as hosts to this illness, breed and infect others with bias projections and anthropomorphism.
"The ufos do not seem to be part of some intergalactic system at all but are closely related to both mankind and the earth itself....All of the manifestations of the past have served one primary purpose. They have advanced belief in some theological, philosophical, or technological concept , and supported one of the many frames of reference employed to hide the real nature of the phenomenon from us..We are like ants trying to view reality with very limited perceptive equipment and then basing our theologies and philosophies on what are essentially misperceptions. The real problem is that there is a much larger reality around us that we can not see but can only sense. While we grovel on our way to the 21st century someone or some thing is watching with amusement . Like Columbus, we don't know where we've been, where we're going, or even where we are." -John Keel
Amusement and arch absurdities when one ,over decades, does an accounting of endless Heinx 57 varieties of "extraterrestrials" and "craft" which may be all misperceptions, and yet represent a palatable enigma.
Some of the preliminary findings are astonishing in their implications and it is a very safe bet in regard to the outcome of probabilities, our species is on the verge of a global redefining of every textbook ever written on living systems within a matter of decades, if not sooner. Consider the velocity of this dynamic of discovery in it's traditional comparative benchmark of scientific revolutions having been measured in the past by the counting of centuries.
A strange juxtaposition occurred as I was concurrently "catching up" on seemingly unrelated developments in electronics as related to human biology. Among these leading edge developments was the capability to selectively erase specific targeted regions of our memory, which in this contemporary culture, seems, at least to this writer, an unnecessary procedure.

The early indications of quantum biology leads to a proverbial unseen balancing act performed behind the scenes in regard to environmental energy in living systems as a energetic potential ( as in an electrical term) being distributed by an equally proverbial dance of genetic reprogramming in a dance between equilibrium and the sub-sysytems of living creatures ( including plants, bacteria etc) that comprise an aggregate sum of organic energy transformation in countless levels subservient to the enormous output of our solar star. The metamorphosis of plastic and fluid forms. Then there is growing evidence of macro quantum effects.
Scientists at the University of California in Santa Barbara (UCSB) have recently managed to demonstrate that the quantum entanglement effect – one of the basic ones in quantum physics – can be observed at a large scale as well, and that it is not necessarily confined to the elementary-particle level.
"The major problems in the world are the result of the difference between how nature works and the way people think"
— Gregory Bateson
On one hand our grasp of evolutionary processes in terms of self organizing living systems in terms of the caricaturisation of what is a local planetary ecology are still being discovered, and yet on the other the majority of those I consider peers, look toward a vague exobiology whose theoretical prerequisites are essentially bypassing these discoveries in terms of currently unknown evolutionary processes in favor of carbon copies or carbon based lifeforms that are a mirror image of our own species.
Macroscaled Quantum Events
Can a contingent form of quantum holography be used to triangulate unexplained local and non-local manifestations and by revealing the macro attributes of holography, distributedness, etc?
For several years, the majority of my short posts and essays have been devoted to the concept of quantum principles being applicable to macro scaled dynamics, using paranormal and \or anomalous events to illustrate not only the observer effect, but also the deep entanglements between mind and nature. Of course, this is never been "acceptable", and yet the patterns of effects seemed remarkably consistent.
This is the third positioning within a triangulation of posts that orbit around the strange attraction of acknowledging how little we perceive, as well as how well paved over by language, our multidimensional realities are.
A theory of our universe capable of creating sentience or what appears to be sentient to us and the question of how much variability within these living systems, free will has, although no one has really defined will to my satisfaction either. This macroscaled quantum event as a metaphor to use a pun, resonates within me as much as long oceanic voyage can result in coming upon the vague outlines of a strange reckoning through a bank of fog that envelopes the coastline of the far lands.
Noted is the plastic nature of unknown atmospheric anomalies that are triangulated by science, culture, human relationships etc that I have likened to a centripetal weather system that has local effects as well as a global dynamic attenuated to the parallelism of our relationship as creative arbiters of these effects, lacking the self perception to see how the relationship between the observer and the observed has evolved, between the virtual underpinning and the material. In a comparatively brief period of time, the transitioning of the mind's biochemistry in the formula of language to the material, referential printed page as a mimic of memory, to the illusion of movement through the mediums that mimic the simulations of the mind, wherein the dead speak neither fully non existent nor alive....perhaps mimic the more subtle attributes of the particles themselves, a cellular intelligence neither material nor absent, called into play by our vested observations, both in motion and at rest, neither one or the other.
The technological mimicry of the material and the representation of it's energetic shadow, as transcribed from the processes of nature which has a similar spectrum of entangled Janus faces seemingly have a variety of doppelgangers. A seeming series of entangled parallelisms, as cited in our mediums we utilize and those that may utilize our conceptual molding of potentiality. The mimicry of the avian community perhaps leads to a mimicry of our conceptual models taken at a face value. one entangled in the other.
In the rumination of this I am guided by Einstein's apt observation which could be applied to the theories of contemporary statements and conjectures on this phenomenon when he said : "We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them."
The Observer Effect
This contemporary pattern of modern Plato's cave dwellers seemingly began with the 1897 Airship Flap, which evolved over time upon a quantum parallel path linking the observer and the observed as a nexus within a contingent singularity, that John Keel had earlier noted that historical benchmarks or turning points appear to have a connection to specific waves only in retrospect as they were naturally unrecognized at the time of their occurrence. This linkage in the specific context of what we anticipate a advanced aircraft to be navigating the sky, as a reactive quantum process which seems to create a definitive perceptual image with slight variations that is just beyond the leading edge, which logically seems to indicate the observers mind is in a feedback of a reciprocal nature with the phenomenon, that creates what one would anticipate to observe as an X craft. Coincidence?
Another pattern that seems to follow along in a shorter parabolic range is the solidifying effect of consensus in the entanglement of minds that I first read about in a book by Lyle Watson some time ago, wherein he suggested that as consensus reaches a form of critical mass, the perceptual image that initially seems vague and comparatively indeterminate, acquires detail and consistency in direct relation to how much energy is focused in a fractal ( repeating variegation) pattern of image \ form.
Another consideration is the navigation of space which has been stereotypes and set in the minds of a vast majority of our species with mechanical and Newtonian craft that are lifted and pushed through the atmosphere by propellers, rocket thrust, gaseous envelopes, etc, which not surprisingly a large majority of "flying objects" have superimposed as conceptual models that entail on this phenomenon which has created fitting square pegs into round holes. Advanced physics, due to recognizing that physical space is time and time is physical space allows us to move beyond these comparative Model T concepts as far as the dimensional geometries of time as they co-join space.
"Fractal is a word invented by Mandelbrot to bring together under one heading a large class of objects that have [played] ... an historical role ... in the development of pure mathematics. A great revolution of ideas separates the classical mathematics of the 19th century from the modern mathematics of the 20th. Classical mathematics had its roots in the regular geometric structures of Euclid and the continuously evolving dynamics of Newton.? Modern mathematics began with Cantor's set theory and Peano's space-filling curve. Historically, the revolution was forced by the discovery of mathematical structures that did not fit the patterns of Euclid and Newton. These new structures were regarded ... as 'pathological,' ... as a 'gallery of monsters,' akin to the cubist paintings and atonal music that were upsetting established standards of taste in the arts at about the same time. The mathematicians who created the monsters regarded them as important in showing that the world of pure mathematics contains a richness of possibilities going far beyond the simple structures that they saw in Nature. Twentieth-century mathematics flowered in the belief that it had transcended completely the limitations imposed by its natural origins.
Now, as Mandelbrot points out, ... Nature has played a joke on the mathematicians. The 19th-century mathematicians may not have been lacking in imagination, but Nature was not. The same pathological structures that the mathematicians invented to break loose from 19th-century naturalism turn out to be inherent in familiar objects all around us. "
— Freeman DysonNow, as Mandelbrot points out, ... Nature has played a joke on the mathematicians. The 19th-century mathematicians may not have been lacking in imagination, but Nature was not. So many examples, so little time...it may be such that the reason these creatures have not settled on the Earth for any reason is that they are here and yet are not. When you ride on a river, you see both banks while being attached to neither side and in this sense perhaps it is such that their own environment dimensionally acts if you will like an anchor set offshore from our own in the superimposition of two entirely unique geometry's that acts as a barrier in the form of a boundary through which they can superimpose without fully occupying either shore, which could be termed both local and non local space occupying an intermediary state which may account for the enormous amount of mystifying energy that is expended from this proverbial membrane whilst they interpenetrate space time. This radiant energy in another words is an effect and not a propulsion system in of itself. The illusion of solid objects is pervasive as they have been picked in a quantum manner from our subliminally acknowledged back pockets.
As far as anyone who would have the stereotype in their reaction to this phenomenon and in particular witnesses, I suggest that Gregory Bateson'e work may inform that the discovery that, contrary to common sense, the difference between schizophrenics and "normal" human beings is not absolute but rather relative; namely, both are governed by the same principles of mentation, but a minor error in applying these principles makes a big difference; this is well shown in the example of "syllogism in grass" used by schizophrenics which is given by Bateson in "Angels Fear", his posthumous book edited by his daughter, Mary Catherine Bateson. Namely;
Syllogism Syllogism in Grass
Men die; Grass dies;
Socrates is a man; Men die;
Socrates will die. Men are grass.Notice that a "minor" error in syllogism thus creates "insane" people; certainly, if it is borne in mind that human beings are said to be the only animals on the earth who cannot stop talking to themselves either inside their head (in this case, they are "normal"!) or aloud (in this case, they are likely to be labelled as "insane"), then the difference between these two types of human beings is bound to be considered relative. The reason I bring this aspect of relative incoherence as an entanglement of conceptual thought is that I believe the perceptual connotations to this epistemology might be parallel as far as errors in processing what the mind always creates as a simulation even in "normal" experiential perception. I another words, it may be prone to processing errors when given "unreadable" data, and thus creates " a close match."
Conceptual misperception may have relevance as a naturally occurring effect when one is perceiving a experiential manifestation that has no semiotic equivalence and falls to a default setting.

One could say simply that the human environment is based on contingent stereotypes and as a result, only appears to be coherent through the use of language, and so, perhaps the seemingly random nature of formulations this phenomenon reflects is the unsettled nature of the 500 pound elephant in the room full of cross purposes and contradiction, as our defining of reality is as R.A Wilson put it, "what we can get away with."
In the immediate postwar era, we had a very semi-fixed conceptual basis of our environment based on the increased velocity of information, militarism, advancing scientific technologies and growing, free floating anxieties regarding conflict between various new theories and our previous paradigms concerning such deep wounds as the Final Solution. The nature of these atmospheric perceptions was joined at the hip to the human environment and was reasonably consistent in form, while also possessing localized variations.
What is interesting to note is the appearance of science fiction films that portrayed the effects of post atomic weaponry as a variety of mutations within living systems that had dire consequences for human survivability, was metamorphosed into a advanced, atmospheric technology presented as both a psychological threat and a extreme metaphor of deliverance. A situational dynamic of the chicken and the egg that has confounded logic inasmuch as our logic could not correlate a reality that was local in the sense of being several places at once, while also defying our defining principles at that time, that the mind and the living systems of our environment share variability and yet common arrangements in quantum physics.
Once the phenomenon was recognized in the then only available theoretical basis available at that time, of a extraterrestrial origin, this consistency of form with variability began to peak, and interestingly, then began to fall apart in it's appearance once conflicting theories arose, and with the arrival of the discovery of quantum effects, became a series of variations within variations, increasing in complexity while evolving new predominate forms.
In a quantum sense all of this is neither here nor there. It is and is not. Seems obvious yet in the yin and yang of postulates this is discounted, we either have quasi empirical mythologies of cryptoterrestrials, extraterrestrials, extra dimensioned travelers due to paradigms that are out dated and as creaking as goblins, trolls and Beowulf.
This cultural popularization of mythologies are not only a defense against unaccounted for perceptions that increase as the relationship between the observer and the observed changes, these mythologies also serve as a resistant psychological bulwark against a backdrop of the increased velocity of effects of our own sociological behaviorism, exponentially creating more uncertainty in a frenzied feedback loop, aided and abetted by technology that is rather valueless in the aggregate sum. One cannot separate the litmus test of our state and station of human sentience from the effects it creates, and how self aware we seem to be at any given moment, in a wealth of diversionary denials and distractions, becomes an enormous challenge not often met.
I do suspect our perceptions of our environment and ourselves as one embedded in the other are being in the process of what begins as a viral, and comparatively small mutation in the whole, where the imaginable process paints our images as conceptual platforms that neither fully exist or are fully non existent, and we cannot seem to grasp this quantum concept.
We fall back on comic books, recycled campfire stories, and our own misaligned certainties that deny our own uncertainty. This is the time and this is the place where walking left while talking right does not fit into a neatly wrapped container as our choices externally appear to shrink in relation to the velocity of cross purposes, and the stereotyped conceptual models of reality as a market commodity are taking on the same increased velocity in a talkative nose dive. It reminds me of the shedding off of one seemingly impenetrable skin, while the other remains raw and is yet to be completely revealed.
Aside from being a litmus test in the application of stereotypes that fall on either side of the divide we have erected between what appears to be tangible and what appears not to be, something phenomenal, beyond the pun, is occurring that appears to indicate new categories of reality are emerging, while we cling to the sinking ship of our own mythologies and the anomalous portrayals of this state of affairs in our atmosphere underline our inability to see how the context of our questions skews the results, in more ways than one.
In the past, I have written several essays on the UFO as a natural phenomenon, one that probability informs me that it is likely, we are experiencing the evolution of a new form of living creature that joins the avian ranks of atmospheric lifeforms. However, then there is the matter of the aforementioned balance and dance of continually transforming planetary living systems in quantum biology, which struck yet another chord in my mind, which is the redistribution of potential in the forms that are consecutively undergoing a mass extinction now, while new forms are bound to arise, albeit as a mutational process, hence the UFO phenomenon.
The vast majority of living creatures here play their part individually as fractal portions of the planetary systems by developing a randomization factor in evolving camouflaged appearances in relation to their set and setting whether it is a tree, a pond, the ocean, the grass, etc. All of this is based on ( of course) predation and whom is eating whom as a potential outcome that, in effect, is another balance, another dance in the cards.
We may be considered top predators and so these creatures have developed a camouflage system that is very effective, like a octopus, like a chameleon, like any number of living creature, This particular, as of yet unidentified creature being habituated in the atmosphere camouflages itself in a means which has a great deal to do with our being land forms, incapable of flight. But....we utilize machines, and as a consequence, they mimic them.
What I find equally fascinating is that while we busy ourselves with a self appointed evolutionary aim of becoming ( in form) robotic machines, on the other end of the spectrum something entirely different is occurring, mutating as a living creature,. Perhaps our equal, perhaps more. Perhaps filling in a gap we cannot see, except at some future time with the evolution of research into quantum biology.
I suspect in a sense that requires our subtle and nuanced mentation, we are these creatures parents and may be on our way out the door, not through extinction ( although that is very probable) but rather becoming a minor player, as it were.
How odd to consider ourselves possibly living in caves as robots while dragons course through the night sky. Consider the video posted below and using your imaginary powers, consider a similar, albeit avian creature who is many rungs upward toward the delimited potential of our solar star in relation to living planetary systems.
One that can telepathically read our minds.
Of course there is another aspect to this triangulation resulting in a very strong suspicion that this is the case, much more so than any I have previously explored, and that is the semiotic investigation of non verbal communication in the form of form itself. Metaphysics informs the physic at times. The latest mutation or evolution of this form of communication arising from these creatures has a child's grasp of what it means to infer by association. I suspect these are extremely intelligent creatures but have a certain naive about them which bodes well for dismissing the attachment of either demonic mythology or Steven Hawking's lunacies toward them.
Consider what this communication means in semiotic and the cybernetics of self referencing sequencing of terms as defining principles of perception. Perhaps a flying jellyfish can be a metaphor rather than a empirical reality as well as a clue we have been handed on a silver plate. A living creature of an unknown taxonomy that expands our conceptual basis of what constitutes a lifeform.
Consider that if the anomalous atmospheric phenomenon that has been noted through the centuries as "objects" as fluid and as transformational in their chimeric state as they are , energy in the biological sense is developing extrapolations in the quantum field of biology. Many biological processes involve the conversion of energy into forms that are usable for chemical transformations and are quantum mechanical in nature. Such processes involve chemical reactions, light absorption, formation of excited electronic states, transfer of excitation energy, and the transfer of electrons and protons (hydrogen ions) in chemical processes such as photosynthesis and cellular respiration. Quantum biology uses mathematical computation to model biological interactions in light of quantum mechanical effects.
Some examples of the biological phenomena that have been studied in terms of quantum processes are the absorbance of frequency-specific radiation (i.e., photosynthesis[and vision; the conversion of chemical energy into motion; magnetoreception in animals and brownian motors in many cellular processes.
Starting from Maturana and Varela's theory of autopoiesis, a speculative discussion about the role of quantum effects in the physical processes underlying the phenomenon of life has been presented in 2009.
If this truly is a undiscovered species think of all of our lunatic anticipations, our recycling of mythologies, outright lies, hoaxes, profiteering, propaganda, politicizing that has occurred as we cannot see through the same camouflage our language provides us in stereotyping all and "everything we can get away with" in terms of perception. Monkeys hanging out by the banana trees, or inventing new bicycles to get to them while loudly proclaiming free will.In terms of migratory patterns, flocking behaviors, avian navigation by magnetic senses and in this, I threw away my old puzzles, and have found new jigsaw pieces which I have been examining for a potential fit bearing in mind the differences and difficulties between similarities and a incommensurable species...as well as self skepticism..
Perhaps Unidentified Flying Objects needs to be tossed as a worn out label no longer applicable in any real sense, a recycled postwar form of slang. Unidentified Atmospheric Creatures ( UAC) suits me. The dolphins of the sky may approve of these mad ruminations, as well as the sentient variants that lurk just out of range who crop up in our perceptions..intermittently.
Enigmatic Living Systems
Perhaps to present various qualifiers in the simplest terms possible that underscore my preliminary conclusions and deep suspicions on the nature of unknown aerial phenomenon in all this maybe required .The pitfalls of this probing of a proverbial enigma I outlined in the previous post, leading to this one, are daunting, as it has been proven and clearly demonstrated in the leading theories that revolve around what are essentially theoretical unknown actors, that perhaps not surprisingly, always end up looking like stand ins for ourselves in various adaptations of anthropomorphism. Of course when trying to fit a square peg in a round hole, we also end up with theories that, as they say, do not hold water, are self contradictory and become simply fodder for theatrical forms of hackneyed science fiction. Why do I think unknown aerial phenomenon represents unknown but indigenous living creatures rather than simply objects? If we separate appearances from behavior, the appearance of dragons, airships, shields, sickles, delta winged stealth craft, what do we find? The natural camouflage I referred to has adopted itself to the human environment over time and the human environment and our species dominance as a predator on this planet, all of which are interrelated.
In order to begin to understand this phenomenon we must discard all of our projection bias, anthropomorphism and critical assumptions, based on appearances alone. We have to look at the living systems of our immediate environment and take the human factor out of our triangulations. One could perhaps gauge the success of this camouflage by the predominance of options and theories that are based on them ( depending on the historical epoch) that originated with mythical winged creatures to agrarian implements to human warfare, religious tableau's, human synthetic flying craft, and even to the extent where some now appear to be transforming themselves to the appearance of plasmas. Why the camouflage? Using projection bias, we have largely and critically assumed that there is a human like agenda behind these metamorphosing appearances, a utility in our assumptions that these creatures share our purposes, our desires, our organizational structures. Think of how narrow minded this critical assumption is.
My research shows that these are more than likely defensive behaviors, in the utilization of this camouflage and not aggressive in nature. However, we are the target when it comes to warding us away and off their track, as again, simply because we are the predominate predator upon the planet and represent a recognized threat that requires a defensive strategy. However, a critical qualifier in my thinking on this subject I don't think this strategy was chosen just as we do not largely choose to be a human versus a potato. Natural selection, adaptation, mutation and so forth are the agencies of this behaviorism rather than a circle of generals sitting around the circumference of a conference table. This is the issue of projection bias that distorts our critical thinking.
Another prong of this theory is the long observed behaviorism of what I call "naive curiosity" An interest a captivation, an observation of a creatures attention does not translate to a human purpose. The raccoon when it raids the kitchen cabinets of a vacant vacation property does not have an interest in how our technology that has been acquired to produce plastic wraps, or how we are dealing with our own psychological weaknesses or strengths. These considerations belong to us, not them.
Why don't they communicate with us? I think they cannot. They are not withholding manipulating, misinforming anyone. We do that without their assistance.
All of my study of interactions between them and ourselves that have a slim probability in the first place of having occurred due to the previous sentence I wrote, demonstrates a loopy mimicry, a bad imitation, poor guesses, etc that reflect a human child's worldview, lacking any knowledge or pretext of what I would call pragmatism, or utility. I do not think that the evidence denotes a superior intelligence, the evidence portrays a naive intelligence. An intelligence that could as easily be portrayed as cellular rather than completely sentient or if you will, sharing our presumed sense of self awareness.
When I termed them living "creatures", one commentator took me ( of course) literally as if I was referring to a flying squirrel or a pigeon, or a wombat.
We require a biological host to provide support for our sentience, and this strikes at the heart of what I think is a critical issue that ties together nearly every variant of paranormal research is that we share the environment with a unclassified form of life, that requires no somatic link to our food chain. I could have asked why they have no appetite, despite the strained connections of trying to link mutilations to spacemen when this theory like nearly all of it's brethren, diverts our attention away from it's domestic sources. toward a sharp velocity that roars headlong into fantasy. I think it is more probable their food source is at the heart of our own in all of it's forms in living systems, the wizard if you will behind appearances , a form of terrestrial naturally occurring form of energy that is provable in the upper atmosphere, whether we are discussing the magnetosphere or what have you, in a ( if you will) a less "processed" form, not requiring as we do, a third party exchange, like a salad or a cow, or ocean salts.
So, having put forth my ruminations on this subject, let me place a context before sharing what I think this phenomenon represents in terms of sentient life. There have been may allusions (that are centuries old) of alleged equally discordant and chaotic encounters with a form of sentient life we presumed to be superior, whether they be Angels, Gods or Demons, which I think is quite reasonable to attribute these accounts as the result of what R.A Wilson termed "naive realism", a self referential cataloging of perception attuned to individuated projection bias that created a virtual library of contradictory theoretical agendas even dare I say, entire foundational and quasi-intellectual foundational critical assumptions for entire arcane theologies and this represents, in my opinion, a vast amount of signal noise from the past, while we are bombarded by our own duplicity in according similar projections in our own terms, credibility ,through anthropomorphism.
I suggest we ignore these accounts as they are undoubtedly the products of the same human psychology that has not significantly changed in regard to unknown aerial phenomenon and the shadow game of camouflaged appearances that we feed in their face value of credibility by affirming them or extending them in theories without an iota of evidence beyond the vaguely circumstantial, and our need for an answer presented to us in our own terms.
My admittedly odd conjectures as to what nature of creature they represent which I strongly suspects blurs our carefully wrought boundaries between cryptozoology, unknown aerial phenomenon and recent discoveries in physics.
To date perhaps the aggregate sum of all our considerations of this phenomenon paint a regrettable portrait of our inabilities to overcome the weaknesses of our own animal psychology in all of it's territoriality, feints, bluffs and bald misrepresentation. What is maybe called for is to move the mirror away from out own image.
The Spectrum of Non Human and Human Intelligence
What sort of intelligence is behind unknown aerial phenomenon? It is certainly not human although it borrows from human semiotics as a natural form of camouflage. If I define intelligence as the self recognition by a lifeform of choices within the environment and then make appropriate behavioral responses which can be for a variety of purposes in the self interests of contingent existence, although theoretically our species is capable of a variety of self sacrifices that are for the greater common good, but that potential is neither here nor there in the context of this post.
What I am trying to get across is that defining intelligence within sentience is a tricky matter that depends on where you place a marker. Plants make choices, so do bacteria, so do a variety of lifeforms that constitute an aggregate sum. All of this relates to the behavior of unknown aerial phenomenon. Is this a form of cellular intelligence in unknown aerial phenomenon that confuses us into thinking that a proverbial plant is making decisions corresponding to the processing utilized by our species? One could say that complexity is another basis of comparison in relation to intelligence, that is to say the amount of subprograms that simultaneously process what essentially is environmental data in a variety of spectrum's and how many spectrum's are accessible may be another comparative basis. The range of each spectrum has a finite limit and no two spectrum's are created equally. The range of a wolf's spectrum of vision is wider than our own while simple photosynthesis senses light in a less complex manner. One could say more elegantly or more cumbersome or more adapted to the environment.
http://newswatch.nationalgeographic.com/2011/07/12/weird-wild-lizards-as-smart-as-birds-mammals/
We are certainly not suited as elegantly to our environment as a wolf. We need shoes, clothing, generally require coming up with a source of heat that we need to create, even something as our need to generally heat up vertebrate foods before we consume them is an end run. So, in the end, when we ask the question posed against the unknown aerial phenomenon, we must consider a whole range of issues that all fall back to what constitutes intelligence. Which if this were a plot to fish for deeper answers to the issues of our own purposes and place, it is brilliant. However I do not think this is the case of a phenomenon being staged for our elucidation of answers for questions we must do the heavy lifting for, inasmuch as most cannot move beyond the whirlygigs of projection bias and anthropomorphism.
So, to cut to the chase as far as choosing between that this phenomenon only appears to be intelligent and that which it may be, is intelligent..my common sense tells me rightfully or wrongfully it may be both. The camouflage issue has a link in causation that may be informing us that certain inaccessible and very subtle quantum mechanisms in our hardware and software as a matter of profiling in a naive sense, may be accessible as they say, on a non local basis, whether you call this effect a matter of telekinesis or a quantum artifact is a matter of language constraints as well as research at the present. I am betting that this camouflage issue is a defensive natural adaptation to a largely human environment, in the same sense that our autonomic nervous system does not require our "thinking about it."
Rather than being a nefarious plot foisted on us personally in human terms, in one sense, I think this issue is prosaic at it's heart, while we ourselves have placed all of our bets on a variety of human like behaviors projected upon a proverbial cuttle fish. Its simply silly, and yet spoken of in self reverent terms. Nonsense.
On the other hand, we have these creatures attracted to what are in my consideration to a variety of magnetic anomalies that are naturally occurring on the surface of the planet as I related in the first post, and yet these creatures can follow the astronauts to the moon. All of which denotes to me something beyond cellular intelligence is operating at a higher level but not on a human level, as i suggested in the last post, this behaviorism seems to denote a naive curiosity rather than a full blown grand opera of human plot twists.
There is very little doubt in my mind that these creatures live in a macro quantum environment of effects and entanglement although the complexity of their environment does not necessarily translate into projecting omnipotence upon them, or dastardly conceived plots against our ourselves or potato chips for that matter, meaning human artifacts. I think they are way early on a developmental curve and this suggests to me that they have a very long lifespan in comparison to our own. I think to them we seem like hyperactive hummingbirds building and destroying our own hives as a sort or programmed safety valve that constrains us through biology..much like ant colonies, however, we are in my own mind using my perverted common sense, an extraordinary threat to them in atmospheric terms like a deadly virus.
When dealing with the shifting attributes of a unknown phenomenon from a post editorial stance, one can see the centuries roll along while the enigmas of centripetal weather systems remained elusive. The same may apply to unknown aerial phenomenon with the reinvention of mythologies to domesticate the non linear nature of certain aspects of nature, that is to say, a direct series of causation's that lie in the origin of a phenomenon are more often than not, far from obvious or apparent. The nature of the living creatures of the atmosphere poses as complex an issue as does their behaviorism when superimposed with projection bias and anthropomorphism. The nature of their nature as inorganic lifeforms requires the equally complex living systems of organic life be used as a relational comparison, which is we do in reversed processional logic, we come to our nearest star, the radiant energy of the sun that feeds organic lifeforms through a variety of mediums that become forms that devour one another for the sake of the whole in a semi-open system of increasing complexity over time.
What is essential to organic life is so engrained in our biology that we assume that organic reproduction is a necessity of the inorganic energetic realm, or at least in terms of atmospheric life, which then becomes transposed into proverbial physical dragons, a lighting the atmosphere aloft with fiery biologically derived luminescence, or in our own epoch the result of organic life utilizing inorganic machines to create " a fire in the sky", a highly complex variant of rubbing two sticks together. If we discount both ends of this yardstick what do we have left to measure on a conceptual platform in order to study the attributes of a sentience that does not consume, digest or exfoliate in the same manner as surface dwelling creatures? Why the atmospheric?I think it's highly probable that in the realm of these creatures food is obtained outside of the from of organic life more closely resembling the metabolism of a plant solely in terms of a more direct feeding from photon energy source where the interaction of our atmosphere as it's furthest extension into space where the interaction between the atmosphere and the sun is at it's most direct and energetic dynamism. Plasma blobs hint at new form of life
- 19:00 17 September 2003 by David Cohen
Physicists have created blobs of gaseous plasma that can grow, replicate and communicate - fulfilling most of the traditional requirements for biological cells. Without inherited material they cannot be described as alive, but the researchers believe these curious spheres may offer a radical new explanation for how life began.
Most biologists think living cells arose out of a complex and lengthy evolution of chemicals that took millions of years, beginning with simple molecules through amino acids, primitive proteins and finally forming an organised structure. But if Mircea Sanduloviciu and his colleagues at Cuza University in Romania are right, the theory may have to be completely revised. They say cell-like self-organisation can occur in a few microseconds.
The researchers studied environmental conditions similar to those that existed on the Earth before life began, when the planet was enveloped in electric storms that caused ionised gases called plasmas to form in the atmosphere.
They inserted two electrodes into a chamber containing a low-temperature plasma of argon - a gas in which some of the atoms have been split into electrons and charged ions. They applied a high voltage to the electrodes, producing an arc of energy that flew across the gap between them, like a miniature lightning strike.
Sanduloviciu says this electric spark caused a high concentration of ions and electrons to accumulate at the positively charged electrode, which spontaneously formed spheres (Chaos, Solitons & Fractals, vol 18, p 335). Each sphere had a boundary made up of two layers - an outer layer of negatively charged electrons and an inner layer of positively charged ions.
Trapped inside the boundary was an inner nucleus of gas atoms. The amount of energy in the initial spark governed their size and lifespan. Sanduloviciu grew spheres from a few micrometres up to three centimetres in diameter.
Split in two
A distinct boundary layer that confines and separates an object from its environment is one of the four main criteria generally used to define living cells. Sanduloviciu decided to find out if his cells met the other criteria: the ability to replicate, to communicate information, and to metabolise and grow.
He found that the spheres could replicate by splitting into two. Under the right conditions they also got bigger, taking up neutral argon atoms and splitting them into ions and electrons to replenish their boundary layers.
Finally, they could communicate information by emitting electromagnetic energy, making the atoms within other spheres vibrate at a particular frequency. The spheres are not the only self-organising systems to meet all of these requirements. But they are the first gaseous "cells".
Sanduloviciu even thinks they could have been the first cells on Earth, arising within electric storms. "The emergence of such spheres seems likely to be a prerequisite for biochemical evolution," he says.
Temperature trouble
That view is "stretching the realms of possibility," says Gregoire Nicolis, a physical chemist at the University of Brussels. In particular, he doubts that biomolecules such as DNA could emerge at the temperatures at which the plasma balls exist.
However, Sanduloviciu insists that although the spheres require high temperature to form, they can survive at lower temperatures. "That would be the sort of environment in which normal biochemical interactions occur."

This may be a level of transference in terms of elegant simplicity that makes our own organic form seemingly a model of comparative inefficiency.
To characterize these creatures as indicative of a plasma goes back into the chicken or the egg phenomenology limited to the synthetics of what maths we use to calibrate our yardsticks. Is this plasma an effect rather than an origin in of itself? In other words an effect of an interaction rather than an origin. I tend to suspect it is the latter rather than the former although there is a danger of this characterization of plasmas by the yardstick we use whose calibrations are incomplete as we can say it is not a plasma we understand from the plasmas we are familiar with.
Again we get back into the cellular versus sentient divide or spectrum and again I think it ( the phenomenon ) bridges both, meaning that as all nature, it's manifestation is contingent on atmospheric conditions as we are upon the more dense, if you will spectrum of exchanges in molecule balances in water and air in terms of chemical composition.
All of this requires a layering of probabilities based on contingent requirements as in the question of self organized lifeforms in our realm versus their characterization of the aggregate sum of effects as in human terms we get caught up in our own propensity to label our biology between the local and the non local by way of animal perception as being divided, as a series of binaries from the sensate to the insensate, from the living to the dead, and so we are at a nexus ( I suspect) where th3ese biological devised from animal perception are giving way to a more realistic view of complex living systems. We tend to think of the sentient as having a greater range of choices although the choices within the environment are finite and each environment then is we follow this through are either imbued with greater or lesser menu's of choices in relation ot others, and so does the direct sustenance of life in the atmosphere present a greater choice in the freedom of movement beyond physical mobility? I think so or at least I suspect this. Dare I say that I have used Occam's Razor without any intent beforehand to do so? Or is this rumination a bridge too far?
My own difficulties in discerning whether this phenomenon represents cellular intelligence or sentience as the behaviorism of the phenomenon could fall easily into either camp, and of course no one has bother to discuss this issue to any great extent, preferring to fall back upon anthropomorphism and projection bias leading to the characterization of this phenomenon as the proverbial antics of cartoon characters.
As in physics, this issue of cellular versus the sentient presents us with the phenomenon of what yardstick we use and where we place it as a measurement of this phenomenon's behaviorism. The same issue reappear when looking beyond the direct behaviorism of the phenomenon and into where it resides in nature, as there is nothing unnatural in nature, which then anomalies, coincidence, etc simply are seen for what they are, not the work of monsters or demons, but aspects of nature we simply do not understand.
Demonizing nature has a long and rich history as a mythos arising from human psychology. From an energetic point of view, we can reasonable presume that this is a form of inorganic life, a living phenomenon rather than a Newtonian bump and go car game of solid machines simply based on the metamorphosis of it's semiotics which trace along our own technological timeline when it comes to an invasion of their habitat which is the atmosphere.
I have related that I suspect that unknown aerial phenomenon is representative of a contingent form of inorganic sentient life. Also that it's behaviorism matches what I term naive intelligence, or that of proverbial human children who are fully capable of mimicry but are incapable of comprehending the contextual material of what such mimicry represents I am now prepared to go one step further, however, the caveat in what I suspect is that I fully realize that in developing comparisons such as these there is a danger in citing similarities between human and non human behaviors that it creates unintentional inferences and suggestions beyond that of a illustration to portray a dynamic, yet the dynamic in this case in the historical sense of cases going back centuries, such interactions occur at an arms length for the most part and when they do possibly occur at close range, they are stunningly meaningless. As I have suggested before, this behaviorism is a poor copy of it's human model, being simply a surface shell that when opened for investigation is empty of any meaningful content purloined from the same appearances it has purloined.. How is this so?
All of their behaviorism toward us is a child's game, but one backed with a definitive purpose, to learn what we are, and just as importantly, to learn the same regarding themselves. I think this is an enormous distinction as what we are largely observed since apparently time immemorial is role playing within a game and I suggest in the context of what might appear to be at first bias projection, it does seem to follow certain aspects of human childhood development, after reading quite a bit of material on the subject. Testing the subject by bald mimicry. Why do I suspect this? I now go into perhaps a Jungian territorial variant which may be the apex of subjectivity, not for all tastes and the origin of role playing within a came is perhaps as odd or odder to me that this theory in of itself, which, in turn, makes me hesitant to become the subject of my own speculation rather than the enigma at hand. Yet this odd state of affairs presents itself for the better or worse without any intention or anticipation arising from more than a simple pursuit of a fascinating subject, without yours truly volunteering in any shape toward becoming a subject within a subject. It's fairly uncomfortable but doable, as this fascination is more in the background than foreground of this life.
Imagine dreams as a set series of fixed ladders and chutes as if you were with a quantum experiential game issued by the Parker Brothers. I have had three dreams and each dream repeats itself twice, for a total of six to date, down to the smallest detail. It gets odder. I can wake up, have some coffee, smoke a cigarette and return to have the same exacting game playing scenario repeating itself in which I am immersed with the same characters within the same ridiculous scenario played as though it's a simulated probe who test various facets of what makes me tick, in which I am challenged and manipulated to overcome various riddles posed as experiential, psychological role playing markers. There's a vague sense of being intentionally being put into a experiential vice in a forensic examination of what could best be described as psychological profiling. I would immediately dismiss this if it were not for the modality of repetitious dreamscapes that are carbon copies of one another.
However, all that is done with a child's finesse which appears to match what has been occurring for centuries in the historical accounts of unknown aerial phenomenon. Proverbial children as imps of the perverse that utilize playing role games to test experiential aspects of their environment, however these are no ordinary proverbial human children, to state the obvious.
This phenomenon show us the cards we hold, the images we hold close in a aggregate large picture frame and play with us as a child would to find out who and what we are.
A extremely clever game by extremely bright inorganic intelligences, naive and yet very good at exploring their environment with abilities that make ours seem very much what they are, fairly crude animal psychologies that turn our own projection biases against us, which I suspect is not due to an aim of misrepresentation toward a goal, with the exception of exploring what is largely a non predominately human environment and as I mentioned before we capitulate by way of our own understandable anthropomorphism toward what is clearly a non human phenomenon, where we are not the subject but a stage.
I have never had a dream repeat itself in exacting terms. I have never had a dream do this in a single night beyond having it happen three times. Something to say the least is very unusual about this. No, I am not "losing my mind" but this is a very puzzling personal anomaly from which I formed this third suspicion. This last matched set repeated itself without my awakening. How did that occur?I am being very cautious not to jump off any intellectual cliffs of certainty about any of this but but the game playing scenario of naive intelligences on a quest for answers regarding their environment as well as what they may be by comparisons to ourselves as a species has lodged itself in my mind, for better or worse. They use our species as markers to probe this reality by mimicking it albeit poorly, simply because there is no context for them, while there is for us.
We are being profiled to put it bluntly and this profiling is as benign as curiosity itself in a proverbial child's dream that is a terrific mimic in projecting our own images back at us but simply goofy and naive in getting the details of our own series of human contexts correctly, yet always experimenting and I presume learning on a developmental curve quite like and yet unlike our own simultaneously.
And so, to date, my deep suspicions are toward unknown aerial phenomenon are:
1. An inorganic form of sentient intelligence that portrays objects as a form of natural camouflage.
2.This camouflage appears to have an advantageous evolutionary component in the development of intelligence toward the environment by probing it.
3. This interaction is akin to role playing within the context of games, to develop a profile of a comparative basis of relationships, by mimicking the human game of semiotics without a context. We , not they provide the context in this game. They set the table and we provide the buffet.
Of course, when and if Dr Hawking bothered to roll back the centuries and read the accounts of mariners who navigate another form of alien atmosphere atop of the unforgiving nature of the sea, and the endless accounts of non human intervention coming from that far clime to assist us as best they can, I would ask: Whose yardstick shall we use to measure the intelligence of sentience?
Aside from theory.
Dolphins, as pre-selected by proverbial circus "trainers" for upwards of $200,000 to marine "mammal parks" for entertainment purposes , where they will remain in lifelong captivity performing tricks in circus acts for children.
A human prerogative in the marketplace of sentient life.
The lucrative captive dolphin industry is the driving economic force behind the institutionalized dolphin slaughters in Japan. as a dead dolphin is worth approximately $600. 00 in the open market or so they say.
Further valuations regarding this, are not calculated within this price.
International law provides no protections against the killing of dolphins which may be the yardstick others may hold in regard to intelligence being a virtue of sentience as in the balance of the evolution of valuation in relation to human knowledge.. in regard to demonstrative behaviors toward non human sentience ....but this is simply a theory, isn't it, Dr Hawking? Perhaps some forms of sentience are smarter than a owl, yet dumber than a brick.
Perhaps this bespeaks the value of innocence once the rabbit can't be put back into the hat. Perhaps demonstrative humility that arises from such a imaginary state of grace has such a wondrous balance, that we could even witness it if we were capable of mute observation.
Dangerous. Unpredictable. Unbalanced in a subtle manner that is demonstratively predictable as the exchange of whatever currency we chose. SETI was met with silence while unknown waves of sentience glide above us as reflected in the open skies as an oceanarium...
...which has no territorial dominion, and they pass as seen by us from below without so much as a word, a gesture. This roaring silence is matched only by denial and the consequential demonizing of the unknown, in this, the halcyon 21st Century.

You've done a marvelous job of compiling and editing together this current post from your thoughts past and present on the subject. While some might dismiss your ideas on the "living enigma" as outside accepted dogma and theory, I appreciate your efforts to expose these ideas to your regular readers and perhaps beyond. I will be interested to see if you get any responses other than my own. From my perspective which is derived from personal experience with the atmospheric phenomenon I can say that I have no quarrel with your reasoning. The phenomenon that I observed appeared to me as though it were alive. Of course, I must add that the observation in question was made through the eyes of my own "human centric bias". How could it be otherwise? As always, thanks for your work on this and thanks for sharing.
I came to the conclusion that to continue to consider this phenomenon an object(s) is to stretch the evidence to fit a bias. I learned that the concept that this phenomenon represents object(s) is so entrenched, and not a living one that I have little if anything in common with others on the subject.
There is nothing original to be said about 99% of what is now written, except a strange sense of nostalgia about gullibility and yet the dead ends they mine have proved finite and contradictory..incoherent.
Hundreds of types of phantasms, the extraordinary odds against traditional objects as interstellar craft, the lack of a purpose in this..means nothing to those who insist on objects. They are waiting for Godot despite the evidence they are. What can one due to refute these myths? They vacillate between dismissing their own interest and debating decades old tales. The exopolitical movement is a joke without a punchline. The general anticipation and interest overall is best characterized as either a juvenile addiction to fantasies or
what I predicted three years ago, a recycling of myth.
The new ufology is the old in new clothes, and will not succeed.
In the decades to come. The subject is now a matter of killing time, idle chatter and the uninformed debate surrounding misperceptions, empirical fantasies, and an exercise utilizing dumbbells.
This phenomenon will outlive us, just as it predated us and as long as the umbilicus of Earth remains attached, as long as there is someone is in the forest, a tree will be heard falling.
Michael,
Another reaction to your comment. Our mutual acquaintance, in my opinion, was correct in coining the phrase, Cryptoterrestrials. If he was not absent, we all would have much more to discuss. Such that it is, as you can probably tell, what is left are ruts trod by obsessive- compulsive chatter boxes.
I agree, "If he was not absent, we all would have much more to discuss".
And I would add, much fun doing it. He is always present in our thoughts.
Agreed. Is it coincidental the the entire subject seems less interesting since he left us?
This entire springboard of a phenomenon to explore other issues as well as the phenomenon itself lately seems like day old bread, maybe the thousand year old frozen turkey Gurdjieff referred to which still makes me chortle.
There isn't anything of late to bounce off of, unless I went to descend into the dead letter file of decades old concepts just to go through the motions. No thanks.
The disinformation and misconceptions currently being spread about on the cable entertainment channels in regards to the UFO phenomenon are embarrassing at the very least. You have the “experts” saying things like, “well, we know it wasn’t a flying trash can lid so it must be extraterrestrial”. While that’s an exaggeration on my part to be sure, it’s not far off what’s happening. The twisted logic is being used to create a bizarre narrative to fit the desired results, which then correlates to the programs title and well…that’s simply insulting to any thinking person. It’s frustrating and does nothing but dumb down the whole subject. I recognize that that may be the very point and therefore the process achieves the goal.
At the insistence of a friend I was once introduced to Stanton Friedman, and within minutes he was trying to sell me a book. I nearly laugh out loud every time I think of it and that sums it up pretty well for me.
Michael,
We appear to be the only two people who can comment. The way this phenomenon is stereotyped as an easily understandable, acceptable but yet incoherent set of critical assumptions based on humanoid extraterrestrials complete with all of our behaviors carbon copied..if that is not dumbed down, I don't know what is. However, historically this has been the habitual rut we have been in, to take any series of behaviors and make assumptions that are nearly always 99% off base. Whether it is the Russian people being based in an evil empire, a phrase coined from a fantasy science fiction movie,, the WMD's in Iraq, what the majority thought ( not so long ago) of African Americans, homosexuals..the same behaviors of dumbing down a subject to position ourselves to pretend to speak knowledgeably about it and make territorial pronouncements based on absolute conjectures.
I don't care what the situation may be, but this sort of propaganda is not helpful to determine the nature of an essential mystery. You cannot approach this subject without asking what this may be may reflect on what little we know of our own situation which is next to nothing. If you read posts on this subject on any given day of the week as a sampling to self verify this premise, you will not ( unfortunately) be surprised. The nature of ourselves and our entanglement with this phenomenon is air brushed away, so reduced to a child's game of empirical dominoes. Where is wonder in awe, dare I say humility in this? Mac was the only peer I could relate to at one time who was a dreamer in the tradition of Emerson, influenced by science and had actually something original to say on these subjects. The rest seem to be largely parrots, mimics or worse, simply shills of some goofy movement they pretend exists.
Sighing from the dark side of the moon,
Bruce
For Mac Tonnies last book, The Cryptoterrestrials, Nick Redfern wrote the foreword. Here are a few paragraphs taken from that foreword that I find applicable to our discussion.
“For those utterly belief-driven souls, the only answer to the ever-present UFO mystery that continues to intrude upon us at a collective and, sometimes, profoundly personal level, is that the true “unknowns” have extraterrestrial origins.
Yet the harsh reality is that the likes of the late J. Allen Hynek, Leonard Stringfield, Richard Hall, and countless other souls who became entranced by flying saucers and their forever elusive crews were utterly unable to provide any hard evidence that E.T. really was—or still is—among us.
For all their files (and attendant filing cabinets), their carefully complied notes, and their myriad interviews with numerous eyewitnesses, they failed to make a definitive case. That’s right: THEY FAILED. Deal with it or don’t, but it’s a fact.
Now one might reasonably ask: well, just because absolute vindication for the Extraterrestrial Hypothesis (ETH) has not been forthcoming, does that mean the same hypothesis has no merit?
Of course not; however, in my view, if evidence for the ETH has failed to surface--despite decades of hard work and diligent investigations---then maybe we should consider the notion that we are looking in all the wrong places.”
My point in posting that is to suggest that at least for some of the people engaged by the UFO phenomenon, the idea of trying to look for answers beyond the accepted norm is becoming a recognized necessity. I think Tonnies would agree.
This essay was refreshing to say the very least, Bruce. Thank you for sharing with us.
I've noted the different reactions my spouse and I have to sightings. Our versions of events vary widely though we tend to agree at the time of a sighting what we viewing seems similar. Our memories are overwritten with our personal biases of course. But mine in particular, from the origin of events to the lasting memories, have always had an essence of innocence attached to them.
I remember reading an account by an astronaut of a time when a door was not operating properly on the shuttle. The crew realized there small spheres of light dancing around the outside of the door in space until they managed to fix the door. When the door was opened, the spheres entered the area in which they'd been working and danced around their helmets as if curious or maybe in greeting. They were left delighted if my memory serves.
Of late, I've wondered if I'm simply naive and somewhat innocent in regard to my reactions or if the events themselves leave me no alternative. In that respect, you've given me something to put on my shelf, in much the way Mac did for me. Again, thanks.
Carol
"We appear to be the only two people who can comment."
Au contraire, mon frere!
As Carol/anon might also say.
Actually, Bruce, considering the volume and complexity of your, what, now 8-part series of blog posts on the possibility that [some] UFOs might be either organic or inorganic forms of atmospheric life, perhaps without sentience or the kind of consciousness we have, but also able to transmute or camouflage their appearance in ways that provide defensive protection and plausible deniability by appearing in ways that seem based in misdirection or being perceived as extraterrestrial when they may be native to our atmosphere is so complex and dense a set of ideas to both incorporate and seriously consider that I have not yet found the time and mental energy to digest and respond to the overall "exegesis' involved.
Not to worry, though--I intend to start over carefully reading the entire series, and related posts, in order to more intelligently and coherently reply when I'm able to afterward.
While I suspect that you may be at least partially correct in your surmise and speculation, I don't think, given the history of best cases extant, that your theory can explain either all or most quality UFO cases and observed incidents.
You might want to browse Google books search or check interlibrary loan for Aubeck and Vallee's recent book, "Wonders in the Sky," for a 2000 year plus historical view of what they consider the best documented cases going back into antiquity, for example and perspective.
What I observed, very close up, in 2007 almost looked like a translucent, slightly self-illuminated eye pupil or more similar to single coralite, with radial blades or "spokes" around a whitish center in a roughly circular shape. It gave me the distinct impression of being some kind of possible holographic projection, as I could see the background dark night landscape through it. What it was, I don't know, but it did not oscillate or internally move it's structure, and did not seem organic or biological per se, but almost like a simulation of something like that.
Anyway, just wanted to check in here and say hi prior to a more detailed and comprehensive response to your "atmospheric organism" theory.
